Special Ideas For WOMEN HEALTH

Women have long fought for access to sufficient health treatments that benefit not only them but also their families. Women are disproportionately afflicted by HIV and AIDS in numerous places across the world. They account for over 62 percent of all new HIV infections among adolescents, and they account for more than half of all people living with HIV. The majority of these women live in areas where getting the health care and information they require is difficult. Unknowingly, some women pass HIV on to their unborn offspring.

Here are four strategies to put this into practice in order to improve the health of women:

1- Find an Event

Across the country, anywhere from 50,000 to 75,000 women will take part in local health and exercise activities. With over 500 organizations to pick from, there's a good chance you'll find something to do! Senior centers, hospitals, health clubs, park and recreation districts, local health and service organizations, schools, retirement communities, and houses of worship are all sites where these organizations can be found.

Every year on this day and week, as a clinician, you have the opportunity to deliver information to your patients through your clinic. See what creative ideas and activities you can come up with to engage and interest your patients in improving their health and wellness.

2- Find a New Physical Activity

With all of the current (and old) fitness fads out there, I'm sure you've been itching to try at least one! From kickboxing to cycling, there's something for everyone. From boot camps to Pilates, there's something for everyone. From rowing to Zumba, there's something for everyone. Take a step outside of your comfort zone and try one! You can't make it to a class or the gym because you don't have enough time? There are numerous online programs available that you can complete from the convenience of your own home. You may even use your TheraBand to get a great workout in!

3- Purchase a fitness/activity tracker.

With so many brands and types to select from, a fitness tracker could be the ideal way to achieve your fitness objectives. Workouts, calories burnt, steps, heart rate, and sleep are just a few examples... Trackers can be a stylish and convenient method to manage your accountability. What about that friend with whom you've been working out? Make friends with your trackers and turn it into a pleasant rivalry!

4- Look after your mental health.

Your mental health might be influenced by your physical health. Just as your mental health has an impact on your physical health, so does your physical health have an impact on your mental health! Different aspects of health and wellness can interact with one another. Make sure you're doing everything you can to keep your spirits upbeat. Sign up for a morning yoga class or learn how to meditate. Take that vacation you've been meaning to take, or try out a new activity. Do something fun and enjoyable for yourself!

5- Allow yourself to unwind.

Get a Massage... Massage? There's nothing else to say. The female body can be severely harmed by stress. Most of us are aware (or have experienced) that stress can disrupt sleep and damage the immune system. It can cause headaches and migraines, depression and anxiety, heart problems, an upset stomach, obesity, difficulty becoming pregnant, menstrual cycle issues, and a decrease in sex drive, among other things. Take some time to relax and let go of the stress that has built up in your life.

6- Healthy Eating

We've all been tempted to pick the cheeseburger over the salad. But seriously, think about the fuel you're pouring into your body! In order to perform at your best, you must eat well. Begin by making simple changes, such as avoiding sugary drinks and opting for natural meals over processed foods, eating smaller portions, and calculating nutrients. You can make small changes at a time until your new eating habits become second nature.

On National Women's Health and Fitness Day, we want to recognize our female healthcare providers and ensure that you are all taking care of yourself. Always put your health, wellness, and fitness first, no matter how hectic life gets. Strong women like you may provide a great example for your patients and motivate them to make positive lifestyle changes for the rest of their lives.
